There's also some U2 in Jonezetta, but the band lacks U2's taste for epic statements. This album, self-released in 2005 and recently reissued by ATO, is the work of a group that hasn't fully assimilated its influences but can paraphrase with winning enthusiasm. Horns give "Can't Hear You Coming" the oomph of '60s Stax-Volt soul, while "O.K., Alright" prances into late-'70s dance-punk. There weren’t many people who knew who they were but man were they AMAZING! The lead singers energy was so crazy and fun, I loved it.
